The Thermo Scientific BB 15 CO₂ incubator is designed for routine cell and tissue culture where stable growth conditions are essential. The system combines precise temperature and CO₂ control with a thoughtful design that minimises contamination risks. This makes the BB 15 suitable for research and educational environments.
The incubator chamber is deliberately designed with a minimal internal surface area. There are no air ducts, double walls or separate water pans. The floor of the chamber acts as a water reservoir for humidification. As a result, the BB 15 has up to 50 percent fewer internal surfaces than conventional incubators, simplifying cleaning and helping prevent contamination.
Temperature is controlled via a Pt1000 sensor with a second safety circuit for additional reliability. CO₂ measurements are made with a thermal conductivity sensor that is automatically calibrated at each start-up. The control panel with large display is clearly readable from a distance and enables easy parameter setting.
