The Locator and Locator Plus systems provide safe and organised cryogenic storage in liquid nitrogen. The fixed, indexed rack layout ensures rapid and reproducible sample retrieval. Low evaporation rates protect samples long term. Suitable for biobanking and research.
The Thermo Scientific Locator and Locator Plus systems are developed for reliable cryogenic storage of biological samples in liquid nitrogen. Fixed, indexed stainless steel racks allow samples to be located quickly and reproducibly. The systems are suitable for long-term storage at temperatures below -180 °C.
High-quality vacuum insulation keeps samples below -180 °C even when the LN2 level is low. With less than 5 cm of liquid nitrogen remaining, the temperature remains stable. The low static evaporation reduces LN2 consumption and limits operating costs.
The Locator and Locator Plus systems support storage in standard cryogenic boxes and are suitable for various vial formats. All models are fitted with a lockable lid. An optional ultrasonic LN2 level monitor can be added for continuous monitoring with visual and acoustic alarms.
